Sports Photography

As a sports photographer based in Fujisawa, just south of Tokyo, I cover a wide range of athletic events and disciplines across Japan. Living near one of the country’s most active surf communities, I spend much of my time photographing local breaks; from the beach, from the water, or from the air. My surf photography has appeared in Hawaiian Airlines’ in-flight magazine Hana Hou! and Breitling’s The Book of Surfing, published by Rizzoli New York.

In addition to surf culture, I photograph a variety of other sports. I’ve covered everything from youth baseball to sumo, karate, and dance, always aiming to capture the intersection of movement, tension, and emotion. I prefer to stay close to the action and work with minimal gear to create images that feel authentic and immediate, whether for editorial stories, brand campaigns, or event documentation.

If you’re looking for sports photography in Japan that combines action and narrative, give me a call.
